ON TURTLE SHELLS
Chinese inscriptions have been found on turtle shells from the Shang dynasty, which reigned almost three thousand years ago. However, the history of the Chinese language dates back six thousand years, and it is believed to be the oldest written language in the world.
WHY CHINESE WITH CARRIE
There is a great advantage in learning a language from someone who grew up speaking the language, and not only that, speaking it in the very city where the language evolved and came to its current form. Carrie is from Beijing, and she brings all the natural advantage of that to her teaching.
Carrie also has a flair for languages. She speaks fluent English and is proficient in French. Having studied English Literature in College, her grasp of English is nuanced. This helps greatly in teaching Mandarin to her English speaking students.
When it comes to her students, Carrie is ambitious for them. She would like them to enjoy the lessons, but also aim for excellent grades and deeper understanding. She employs a range of techniques to make Chinese learning interesting and effective. Many of her students go onto do extremely well in their exams.
Teaching requires involvement and passion. Carrie brings a keen interest and dedication to her vocation. She has taught numerous students over the past twenty years， and has enjoyed every moment of it.
The quality of Chinese teaching that Carrie offers is perhaps the best reason to learn the language with her.

WHY ENGLISH WITH MR. BROWN
Mr Brown is a famous British TV character in a very popular TV sitcom called Mind Your Language , circa 1970s. Please check it out on Youtube.
Following that my English character is Mr. Brown, my famous Chinese character is Yanhui. I was born and raised in Banbury, just outside of the well-known Oxford in the UK. I teach English to foreign nationals here in Singapore. I completed the Tesol Certification Teacher Training at BEC (British Education Centre) in 2015. I have worked as an English teacher for 10 years in Singapore, teaching varied students in every age, nationality and backgrounds. I teach from school curriculum, IGCSE and IB English to general and business English, conversational English, IELTS and TOEFL preparation.
My main teaching objective is to motivate students to extend their own personal limits and abilities. In accordance with syllabus requirements，I would wish to apply teaching materials or programs that would expand existing student knowledge. I am confident that my experience and skills will be an asset to your learning and development.
